Narberth is a walking town because of its size and convenient layout. It has shopping, recreational facilities, religious organizations, the library and school all within a comfortable walk. In 1895, as a Borough, Narberth was incorporated. In 1995, Narberth celebrated its Centennial with a year-long celebration. The Borough of Narberth got two planning awards from Montgomery County. One was for the development of the Albrecht tract on Montgomery Avenue into a Rite-Aid Drug store and the Albrecht's Garden Center. The other award was for the Phase 1 project of the Downtown Project which included the development of the former McCandless Fuels yard into very necessary parking area and retail space. |
